Branch Blog Vol. 5: Finding Your Dream Wedding Vision

Your wedding day is one of the most magical moments in your life, and it should be a true reflection of your personality and style. Discovering your dream wedding vision is an exciting journey filled with inspiration that can come from every corner of your life. Let's dive into playful ways to channel your experiences and surroundings into creating the wedding of your dreams!

Create a Mood Board

A mood board is like a treasure map for your wedding ideas, guiding you toward your perfect day! It’s a fun way to visually organize your thoughts. Gather colors, textures, and images that resonate with you. You can make a physical collage or create a digital masterpiece on platforms like Canva or Pinterest.

Steps to Create a Mood Board:

  1. Collect Images: Dive into wedding magazines, blogs, and social media. Clip or save anything that makes your heart skip a beat!

  2. Choose a Color Palette: Look for colors that keep popping up in your selections. These will help steer your décor choices.

  3. Identify Themes: Notice the patterns in the images you love—are they whimsical, elegant, or quirky?

  4. Add Personal Touches: Include items that tell your story, like family heirlooms or favorite quotes that make you smile.

Browse Pinterest

Pinterest is like a magical library filled with endless wedding inspiration! Create boards for different aspects of your wedding, whether it’s dresses, flowers, venues, or decorations.

How to Use Pinterest Effectively:

  • Search Broadly: Start with fun search terms like “dream wedding” or “wedding vibes” to see what inspires you.

  • Follow Influencers: Find wedding influencers with styles you adore and let their boards spark your creativity.

  • Stay Organized: Use sections within your boards to categorize ideas—this will help when it’s time to make decisions.

Seek Inspiration from Your Surroundings

Look around! Your everyday environment can be a goldmine for inspiration. What brings you joy?

Possible Sources of Inspiration:

  • Nature: If a blooming garden or the sound of rustling leaves makes you happy, think about how to incorporate those colors or elements into your wedding.

  • Cuisine: What dishes remind you of family gatherings or special moments? Food can be a delicious way to celebrate your love.

  • Architecture: Consider spaces that feel cozy and inviting to you. These elements can inspire your venue or ceremony setup.

Reflect on Personal Joy

Take a moment to think about what truly brings you joy. Is it the sound of laughter, the warmth of the sun, or the sparkle of fairy lights? These elements can guide your wedding vision.

Tips for Reflection:

  • Journal Your Thoughts: Write down memories that make you smile and consider how they can shape your day.

  • Create a Joy List: Jot down small things that bring happiness and think about how to incorporate them into your celebration.

  • Think of Shared Experiences: Reflect on special moments you and your partner cherish together—how can these be part of your wedding story?

Bringing It All Together

Once you’ve gathered your inspiration, it’s time to weave it all together! Discuss your ideas with your partner and consider enlisting the help of a wedding planner who can help turn your dreams into reality. Remember, your wedding day is a beautiful reflection of your unique love story. By drawing inspiration from your life and surroundings, you’ll create a celebration that’s as special as your relationship.

In conclusion, finding your dream wedding vision is a delightful exploration of what makes you happy and how to infuse those elements into your special day. Whether through a colorful mood board, the endless ideas on Pinterest, or the joy found in your surroundings, your wedding will be a unique celebration of love that tells your story!

As shown in the photo, I created a collage featuring key elements for a pre-wedding dinner party. These were my initial ideas, which eventually evolved into a more refined vision for the evening. Planning often takes time, and sometimes it takes a while to fully define the concept. In the photos below, you'll see how some of my original ideas stayed intact, while others shifted as my vision came together. (Invitations were made on Canva)

Shifting focus from my original concept, I decided to embrace the beauty of the setting for the dinner party. Surrounded by a stunning English garden and serving traditional Italian cuisine, I kept the rustic plant pots filled with fresh herbs. I also knew I had to include chamomile in the bud vases—I'm absolutely in love with chamomile. The place cards added a touch of whimsy, each one handcrafted by me. We also kept the goblet-style glasses, but chose a softer green shade to complement the setting. The color scheme of blues, greens, and yellows which work so effortlessly well together.
